Our Disneyland Adventure - Day 2

Day 2 was another great day at Disneyland!  It is easily one of my favorite places - definitely the happiest place on earth.  We woke up early to be at the park right when it opened.

The last time we went to Disneyland the fast passes for Radiator Springs Racers were gone by 9:00 AM, so we wanted to be in California Adventure in plenty of time to get a fast pass.  We got our fast passes and then headed over to some of the other rides while we waited.

The first ride was Tower of Terror - Eric HATES this ride for reasons I don't even pretend to understand.  We decided to do it while the line was short, but Eric backed out at the last minute so I rode by myself.  I love that ride.

Our next stop was Cars Land.  This is one of my favorite areas of the park.  We rode Luigi's ride and the Mater ride - so much fun.  I love the Cars Land looks like it is directly out of the movie - even down to the Cozy Cone Motel.  At the Cozy Cone, we got Chili Cone Queso - it was awesome.  It was chili in a bread cone.  Delicious and very creative!

We then headed over to the pier to ride the Roller Coaster.  The first time we rode the roller coaster last time we were in Disneyland, Eric thought he was going to die.  He doesn't really like big roller coasters, but after going on it one time it's become one of his favorite.  We actually rode that ride a few times before it was time to use the fast pass to Radiator Springs Racers.

I love the Radiator Springs ride, but I refuse to wait in the regular line, which is always longer than an hour, so fast passes are a must. The ride did not disappoint, and there were still some fast passes left for later in the day, so we got another fast pass and did California Soarin'.  At this point we knew we would need to come back to California Adventure later in the day to use our fast passes, so we headed back to Disneyland.

We rode a few rides including "It's a Small World" before getting a late lunch at the Plaza Inn.  We LOVE the Plaza Inn - best-fried-chicken ever.

We stayed on Main Street, and although I'm pretty much always brainwashed when it comes to Disneyland, I was feeling especially daring and bought Minnie Ears. I love them.  Best purchase of the trip.

As a side note - this bench is where Walt Disney was sitting when he dreamed up Disneyland.
We kept wandering through Main Street and went into Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.  We saw that the last time we were in Disneyland but didn't know what it was.  This time we researched before we went and they have an Animatronic Abraham Lincoln there. It was actually really cool.  There was also a copy of the Gettysburg Address, so we made sure to read that.  I love the Gettysburg Address, and when we went to DC and Gettysburg last year I made sure to read it every time I saw it.  Disneyland seemed like an appropriate place to read it as well.

After lunch, we rode more of our favorite rides, including the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.  As we finished the ride and the car slowed down, they stopped the ride before we were to the gates.  They got all the other riders in the other trains off the tracks before getting ours - it was HOT.  When they did get us out of the car, we walked back to the gates where there were two cops, security guards, and most of the cast members for the ride.  There was a family behind us that they asked to talk to, and the rest of us could go.  It was craziness!  As it turned out though, we got a free fast pass, which always makes us happy!

We headed back to California Adventure to use our other fast pass for Radiator Springs and stayed there the rest of the night.  We did the rest of the rides there including Monsters Inc and the Little Mermaid.  We actually love the little kid rides almost as much as the big kid rides!  We also rode the Toy Story ride using our free fast pass and in a strange twist of luck, I actually beat Eric.  That was the first time that had ever happened.

Before too long it was time for World of Color.  I love World of Color - I think it is so beautiful.  We watched the show and then called it a night.  Day 2 was definitely a success.
