Coming Home

We grabbed breakfast at a family Diner. They didn't have enough seating for our party of 11 so they set up a table on the patio for us. It was a little local place with a good inexpensive breakfast. During breakfast, we asked Aleene and Kent about their favorite things at Disneyland. Aleene loved it all and really had a tough time choosing her favorite, but she decided Big Thunder Mountain was her favorite. Kent didn't love one particular ride per se but his favorite thing was the amazing level of coordination that occurs at Disneyland. He was amazed by the way they bring all the elements - workers, lights, water, etc. to create a magical experience. The rest of the group really enjoyed Space Mountain, Screamin', and Radiator Springs Racers. Regardless of our favorite rides, it is safe to say we all had a fantastic time.

Our flight home wasn't until the evening so we headed over to Huntington Beach. It is pretty cool that last week we were playing in the Atlantic and today we were hanging out at the Pacific. Alison and I only got our feet wet. Skylee loved the beach. She wanted to jump right into the ocean. She had no fear. We enjoyed watching her excitement.

While we were hanging out on the beach I started to bury Alison's feet. Jake jumped right in to help me. Skylee ran over and tried to dig Alison's feet out. After Alison stepped out of the pile Skylee was rolling around on top of it and throwing sand. It is fun to hang out on the beach with family.

After spending some time down by the ocean we went up on the pier. It was pretty cool. There were a bunch of people catching fish and we even saw a seal swimming around. We walked down to Ruby's by the Pier to get some lunch. Alison has raved about the grilled cheese. I got one and it was pretty amazing - grilled cheese heaven!

After that, it was time to come home. On the way to the airport, everyone in our van except for Dan and I fell asleep. After so much running around we were all pretty tired.

The past week and a half have been great. We have had amazing adventures. It was wonderful to spend so much time together. A small part of me wishes this vacation could go on forever. Then I think about how nice it will be to sleep in my own bed and then to get back into a normal routine. I am ready to be home.
