Recovery

This week has been a little bit rough. Recovering from our long vacation has been harder than either of us expected. Alison has been fighting a running nose and school has been crazy busy for me. My professors are piling on the projects. Between all the school work and studying for the CPA exam, I feel like I am busy all the time. Fortunately, I only have to make it through the next five weeks and then the school semester will be over.

Since we have been so tired we slept in late this morning and didn't really get anything going until nearly noon. It was really nice to relax and not worry about anything.

It was such a nice day today that we wanted to get out and do something. We decided to go on a hike called the living room above the University of Utah. The hike is up by the Red Butte Gardens. It is a pretty confusing trial. There are trails crisscrossing all over and the signage isn't very good. We got a little turned around at first but once we got on the trail we had no problems.

It was so nice to be out in the fresh air. It was so warm today that there were times it was almost too hot (there is no shade on the trail). Fortunately, there was a nice breeze that kept us cool. Since this was our first hike of the season it was challenging. It is a little over 2.5 miles round-trip. The best part of this hike was the amazing views of Salt Lake. From the hilltops, you could see all the way out to the great salt lake and all the way out to the point of the mountain. It was incredible.
