Troff Family Top Ten of 2015

It’s hard to believe another year is coming to a close. 2015 was a great year for our little family! Here are some of the highlights:

1. We celebrated 4 years of marriage in June!  Time flies when you are having fun.  Eric made a fancy dinner and then we walked around Temple Square reminiscing about our wedding day.

2.  Eric graduated with his Master's in Accounting in May and finished up the CPA exam by July.  His scores were in the top 1% of the nation.  We celebrated his accomplishments by relaxing on the beach in Carlsbad with some of our best friends.

3Alison started her Professional MBA at the University of Utah in August and absolutely loves the program. She’s learned so much about the business world from both the faculty and her fellow students. The program is designed for full-time working professionals so she has stayed very busy focusing on both school and work. Eric decided to take advantage of his free evenings when Alison was in school by taking a photography course at the U.  He enjoys his new hobby!

4. This year brought many fun and exciting changes for work! Eric started working at Ernst & Young in August in Assurance. It’s been a nice change in pace from full-time school.  Alison was promoted to a Manager in the Implementation Department at DealerTrack responsible for leading the newest implementation team members.

5. Eric’s work will keep him VERY busy from January to April each year, so we spent our last Spring Break in Florida for Yankees Spring Training.  We saw many up-and-coming Yankees that made it to the big leagues this year including Greg Bird, Luis Severino, and Rob Refsnyder. When the Yankees weren’t playing we played at the beach, visited Harry Potter World, and were inspired by NASA (really though, they sent people to space with less technology than is in our phones – amazing!).

6. In March we visited the Happiest Place on Earth with 4 generations of our family! Disneyland is truly a place parents and children can enjoy together from our 2-year-old niece to Alison’s grandparents. It was definitely a dream come true.

7. We ended summer with a trip to San Diego with Alison’s parents.  We relaxed at the beach, learned to paddleboard, and spent summer nights watching the Padres.

8. Alison went to New York City for work in July, and Eric decided to tag along.  We went to a few Yankees games, visited the observatory on top of the One World Trade Center, and saw Finding Neverland on Broadway. It was a great weekend trip!

9.  Summer came and went all too quickly, but we spent many dreamy summer nights with family & friends cheering on the Salt Lake Bees. Baseball really is the greatest sport and will always be our favorite pastime.

10. We took advantage of living in a state surrounded by gorgeous mountains!  We spent the long Presidents Day weekend in Goblin Valley hiking through slot canyons and staying warm while camping in 28-degree weather!  We also took a trip to Zions together in May to hike Angels Landing and the Narrows.  And Alison’s brother, Jake, encouraged us to conquer our fears and go canyoneering in Zions over Labor Day.  It was an adventure we won’t forget (and are likely to repeat). We are so blessed to have a wonderful family that we spend time with!

Most of all, we are grateful for the birth of our Savior that we celebrate this time of year. Merry Christmas from our family to yours!
Love,
Eric & Alison
