Halloweentime fun!

We have been enjoying the Halloween season with our family and friends. A couple of weeks ago Alison's brother Bret came home from Philadelphia during his fall break. It was really great to visit with him and hear about his experiences in grad school. He really wanted to visit a corn maze so we went with Alison's family to Cornbelly's.

We started off with the corn maze, which was a bit of a letdown. A lot of the corn was pretty short. I could see over at least half of the corn stalks. We walked around for a bit, but it didn't take much time. After the maze, we wandered around to see what other fun activities we could find. In one corner there was a booth where you could throw a ball and it would tell you how fast you threw. We all took turns doing that. Then Blake found the roping booth. He showed us all how roping works and Alison decided to give it a try. After a couple of throws, she caught the steer-head-roping-dummy.

Before we called it a night Bret wanted to ride on the mechanical bull. Blake gave him a few pointers and Bret jumped up there and rode it like a pro. The night started off a little slow, but in the end, we all found something fun to do.

The next weekend we went back to Cornbelly's with some of our friends from the accounting program. We came with them last year and it is on its way to becoming a tradition. It works well for our group because the members of our group who have kids can bring them along and we can all have fun together. We wandered around for a few hours talking and enjoying the many activities Cornbelly's has to offer. My favorite activity was playing cornhole. The night flew by - I couldn't believe when it was time for us all to leave. It was great to see all of our friends. Now that we all work we don't see each other nearly as often as we would like.

It was such a fun night. We are truly blessed to have an amazing group of great friends. There is no better way to spend the Halloween season than being surrounded by friends and family.
