Troff Family Top 10 of 2016

2016 was an awesome year for our little family! We loved a lot, learned a lot, grew a lot, and of course, traveled! Here are the highlights of the year:

1. We celebrated 5 years of marriage in June! We spent a lot of time reminiscing about the last 5 years and what we have accomplished together. Although our life is different from what we imagined 5 years ago, it is far better than what we planned. The last 5 years have been the best yet!

2. We are building a house in Daybreak, Utah! Our expected completion date is March 2017. We had so much fun picking colors to make our house perfect for us.  Many summer nights were spent walking around Daybreak and getting excited about our future home! And we are of course grateful for Alison’s parents who opened their home to us until our house is complete. We love them!

3. We have both had an excellent year at work! Eric was promoted to Staff II at Ernst & Young, and Alison is working in the Implementation team at Dealertrack. Eric also officially earned his CPA license this year.

4. Alison completed a full year of school! She stays very busy going to work during the day and school in the evenings. Although it’s challenging, she enjoys immediately applying what she is learning in school to her work and networking with some of the best teammates possible! She will graduate with her MBA next July. We are counting down the days!

5. We celebrated our anniversary with a trip to Kauai. We spent a full week together snorkeling in the ocean, relaxing on the beach, hiking part of the Na Pali Coast, riding bikes by the ocean, and overall just enjoying being together. We cannot wait to go back!

6. We embraced our inner children and purchased Disneyland annual passes! We made 4 trips to Disneyland this year at various times including Halloweentime and Christmastime (our favorite!). The highlight was celebrating Halloween in Disneyland dressed as Donald and Daisy Duck.

7. We visited Las Vegas in April to see George Strait and celebrate Alison’s birthday. We have dreamed about seeing George Strait live, and it was better than we imagined! He is legendary!

8. We spent a lot of time traveling to Utah with our family. We visited Zions National Park in March to hike the Subway. And went back in September for Labor Day! We also spent the 4th of July in Flaming Gorge relaxing on the boat, eating delicious food, and spending time together. We are so blessed to have a wonderful family to spend time with!

9. Eric trained for a completed a half-marathon during Busy Season! This meant waking up around 4:00 AM to train, and then going to work for a very long day. Alison was so proud!

10. Baseball was, of course, a big part of our summer! We cheered for our Yankees, especially during their surge late in the summer. We also went to a Dodgers game in LA and spent many dreamy summer nights cheering on the Salt Lake Bees with family and friends. And of course, we were watching when the Cubbies finally won the World Series! We wished it was the Yankees, but WOW – what a Series!

Most of all, we are grateful this time of year for the birth of our Savior, which makes it possible for us and our families to be together forever. Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

With Love,
Eric & Alison Troff
