Derek Jeter Day

Today the Yankees celebrated the career of Derek Jeter in the Bronx. After church today we went over to Blake and Debbie's to celebrate. The whole family was there and we enjoyed Debbie's delicious roast and potatoes while we watched the festivities.

We will truly miss the Yankee Captain after his retirement - the Yankees won't be the same without him. Watching these festivities only made us more excited to go to New York in 2 weeks to see the Yankee legend in his last game at Yankee Stadium.  It will probably be decades before there is another player like this - the last time we had someone this great was Mickey Mantle.  Fortunately, we are lucky enough to have seen him live more than once so we can tell our children and our grandchildren that we saw Derek Jeter - the greatest Yankee of our lifetime.
