Our Skylee Day

Today we played with Skylee Dallas all day long.  I picked her up around 8:00 at her house.  She wanted to play in "Skylee's room" with her toys.  At one point she dumped out all her toys and pulled all her stuffed animals out of her crib.  Eventually, I convinced her we should put her toys away and go back to Ali's house to see Eric.

We came back over to our apartment where Skylee ate strawberries and watched Shake it Off on repeat for about 20 minutes.  She loves that music video.  She also said hi to CC who didn't hiss!  CC was very well behaved today.  After about 30 minutes we went to the zoo.

Today was free admission at the zoo so we thought it would be fun to take Skylee.  She absolutely loved it!  The first animal she wanted to see was an elephant, but we convinced her to see the lions and Zebras since they were at the very front.  We then went and saw the monkeys and she loved them!  We finally made it to the elephants and she was fascinated with how big they were.  By the time we got to the elephants, she didn't want to take any more pictures.

After the elephants, she decided she wanted to push the stroller.  She honestly only rode in the stroller from the car to the zoo entrance and after that, she wanted to walk or push the stroller everywhere. She didn't even want us to help her.  It was adorable.  We went to the sea lions next and she was fascinated by them!  It was precious.  Our next stop was the Polar Bear - one of my personal favorites.

But by this point, she was getting kind of grumpy.  Eric bribed her with treats to try to get her to smile for a picture, but this was the best we got...

She did however hold Eric accountable for his promise for a treat so before we could see any other animals, we got her a treat.  We were going to get her a churro, but she was the cotton candy and wanted a pink one.  Eric and I got a churro to share, but Skylee wanted the churro more than the cotton candy.  In the end, she ate about half of the churro and half of the cotton candy.  She was then on a sugar high the rest of the time we were at the zoo.  She didn't like that the cotton candy would stick to her so we had to use wipes to clean her hands multiple times while she was eating the candy.

Our next stop was the bears and then the Asian Animals.  At this point, Skylee was re-arranging our hats and gloves in the stroller pocket, and she decided she wanted to wear her hat for about 5 minutes while singing "I have a little turtle, his name is Tiny Tim." It was hysterical.  She also continued to push her stroller.  She really liked seeing the tiger and the "amelope."  We then went to see the gorillas and she was fascinated.  She seriously stared at them for like 10 minutes each.  There was an orangutan that had a baby and she said one of the hanging hammocks was the crib.  It was precious.

On our way out, we saw the Giraffes.  They were her favorite - she loved watching them!  Overall, we had an awesome time with Skylee at the zoo - and I don't even like the zoo!

After the zoo, we picked up Meg and met Jake at Robin's Nest for lunch.  We love Robin's Nest!  Eric and I both got the gouda smoker and we got Skylee a PB&J.  The cashier gave her a cookie and her sandwich came with potato chips.  She ate about two bites of her sandwich, but thoroughly enjoyed the chips and the cookie.

At this point, it was clear that it was going to rain so we decided to take Skylee to the Good Dinosaur. She loved the popcorn and wanted to hold the popcorn bucket.  She got a little antsy but overall she was a lot of fun at the movie.  It was adorable!

Today was such a great day with our precious niece.  She is the best!
