Days 12 - Tokyo Disney Sea, Part II

Thursday morning we got up extra early and arrived at DisneySea ~100 minutes before it opened. There were still a few people ahead of us, but we were the 5th and 6th people at our gate. We wanted to ensure a good rope drop because we only had a couple of hours at the park today.

We made it in quickly and headed straight to the Tower of Terror to get a fast pass. There was no line when we first arrived, and we were almost tempted to ride it right then, but we stuck with our plan. I am glad we did it worked out pretty perfectly. We walked to Journey to the Center of the Earth. This is probably our favorite ride in DisneySea. It grew on us for sure. The ride is very elaborate and the theming is top-notch.

Then we ran to Indiana Jones for a final ride. By the time we finished, we were up for a fast pass. We got our last fast pass for Journey to the Center of the Earth. We then headed over to use our Tower of Terror FastPass. On our way, we stopped to buy a few gifts. In Tokyo Disney Duffy, Mickey’s teddy bear, and his friends are insanely popular. We bought a Duffy for our niece Holly and a Stella Lou puppet for our niece Skylee. We also bought a Duffy puppet for our friends who recently had a baby. Alison got a picture holding Duffy similar to what we saw a lot of Japanese girls do at the parks. They carry around stuffies and take pictures with them – it’s part of the Kiwaii culture. We rode the Tower of Terror and raced over to the Arabian Peninsula to ride another of our favorite rides – Sinbad. After Sinbad, we stopped by another store to buy a stuffed Chandu for Skylee (this was the stuffy I thought she needed) before heading to ride 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and Journey to the Center of the Earth each one last time. Then we had just enough time to buy one last set of green alien dumplings on our way out of the park.

We left the park and headed back to our hotel to get our bags. We took the limousine bus to the airport. We made it through security and immigration with plenty of time so we found a place to get one last Japanese meal before heading home. Then we boarded a plane to Portland.

Japan was an amazing trip. We both commented that it’s been our favorite country that we’ve visited together and somewhere that we want to return to soon. It’s a beautiful country with an amazing culture and the best Disney park in the world.
