Fakesgiving and Getting Into the Holiday Spirit

Since we are not going home for Thanksgiving this year Alison's parents decided to put together a Thanksgiving feast last weekend. We affectionally referred to this event as fakesgiving. Blake and Debbie smoked a turkey and we brought all of the fixings for a feast. It was a fun afternoon spent surrounded by family and friends.

Last weekend we also decorated our house for Christmas. Usually, we reserve this task for the weekend after Thanksgiving, but since we will not be around (and because Thanksgiving is so late this year). We decided to get a head start. Alison went to work and put together a beautiful silver and gold Christmas tree. We add a few ornaments every year and every year it looks better and better. It is beginning to feel like Christmas.
