Madeline’s First School Picture Day
With the new school year starting up, Madeline got to participate in her very first school picture day! It’s wild to think she’s already old enough for something like that—even if her “school” days are still much more about playtime.
At this stage, her program is definitely heavy on the childcare and light on the academics, but she’s still learning so much every day. Recently, she graduated from the Storks class to the Puffins class—her big one-year-old promotion. The transition came with a few tears (mostly hers, though we weren't far behind). She adored her old teachers and had a tough time saying goodbye those first few mornings. But after about a week, she found her groove again. Now she lights up when she sees her new teachers and can’t wait to join her friends each morning.
Moving up also meant some big changes for our little girl. She no longer naps in a crib—each of the kids has their own little cot for rest time—and she’s officially down to one nap a day. It’s been an adjustment, but she’s handled it like a champ. The new schedule seems to suit her, and she’s usually all smiles when we pick her up in the afternoon.
Her favorite parts of the day are definitely outside time, music and singing, and Spanish class. She loves clapping along to songs and giggling with the older kids on the playground. Watching her grow more confident and curious each week has been such a joy.
We’re so grateful for her school and the amazing teachers who care for her. It’s a comfort knowing she’s in such a warm, happy environment—and getting her first official school photo felt like a big milestone for our little Puffin.
