Our Fourth Annual Accounting Friends Holiday Party

Yesterday we held our fourth annual accounting friends holiday party. In previous years we hosted a Christmas party. This year one of our friends suggested we have a Friendsgiving. We are so glad they did - it was an excellent way to kick off the holiday season.

I fried a turkey. It was my first time frying a turkey. It turns out it is pretty simple as long as you have the right equipment. The real key is finding a fresh turkey so that it does not explode when you put it in the hot oil. Alison made a pumpkin trifle and rolls. Our friends provided the rest of our feast. The food was excellent and we very much enjoyed visiting. John and Kara brought their 2-month-old baby girl, Piper. Everyone loved meeting her. After dinner and dessert, we broke out some games. We played Chronology and Code Names. Both are excellent group games.

It is hard to believe this is the fourth year we have had a holiday event with this group of friends. When we started holding this event we were all in school and had not even started our careers. Since then a lot has changed in each of our lives. Despite these changes, we remain good friends. I am looking forward to many more holiday parties.
