Bret Visits Utah 2022

Due to Covid-19 Alison's brother, Bret wasn't able to come home to Utah for Christmas. Instead, he rescheduled and came home this last weekend. We spent the weekend hanging out with family and making up for some of the holiday celebrations he missed.

On Friday afternoon we ended up at Blake and Debbie's house. We needed to borrow a stapler. Bret was there, along with Skylee and Anna Holly. We ran a quick errand and then came back to hang out with them. I ran around the house playing hide and go seek with our nieces, while Alison caught up with Bret and her folks.

Friday night we all went over to Jake and Meg's house. We ate pizza and hung out. I brought Giant Jenga. So we played a couple of games of Jenga and then Skylee proceeded to use the Jenga blocks like dominos. She made all kinds of shapes and designs. It was fun to spend time with family.

On Saturday afternoon Alison and I went over to Kristin's house. For Christmas this year Bret got us candlemaking supplies. Bret is an amateur chandler. He taught Alison, myself, and Skylee how to make candles. Mine turned out the best if I do say so myself. It was purple with a nice lavender scent. Skylee wasn't so sure about her sandalwood-scented candles, so she traded one of hers with Alison. It was a really fun Christmas gift.

After candlemaking, the rest of Alison's family came over and we all ate fondue. Then we (mostly Bret) opened Christmas presents. We got Bret the Taco Bell Party Pack Card Game. Which is a surprisingly fun game. We played it as soon as we finished opening presents. While it is a bit complicated, once you get the hang of it the game moves fast and is quite entertaining.

On Sunday we got together for Sunday lunch, this time at Blake and Debbie's house. Blake and Debbie are moving into a new house and so before we ate, we took pictures in front of their current house. Meg took pictures on her camera and Blake took a few on his drone. We will miss this old house - it is where Alison and her siblings grew up. We made a lot of great memories here. I am sure we will make many more at their new place.

We had a nice lunch and then it was time to bid Bret farewell for now. We hope it isn't too long before we get to hang out with him again.
