5 Months!

Madeline is five months old! This past month, she’s become even more interactive and expressive. She’s rolling over occasionally—mostly when we’re not looking—and seems surprised every time she does it. She’s also reaching for everything in sight, whether it’s a toy, a book, our faces, or Tex’s fur.

Her newest obsession is her toes. She grabs them every chance she gets and has even started occasionally putting them in her mouth. It’s impressive flexibility, and she seems very proud of herself every time she manages it.

She’s been loving playtime—especially anything that involves sitting up. She’s not quite there on her own yet, but she’s determined, and if we prop her up, she’ll stay steady for a little while before tipping over like a slow-motion fall. She’s fascinated by textures and loves running her hands over different fabrics, books, and even the couch.

Tex continues to be her favorite subject of study. She watches him intently, and if he’s close enough, she’ll reach out to pet him. He’s been so patient with her, sniffing her gently before settling in nearby.

At five months, she’s still the sweetest, cuddliest baby, and we love every new moment with her. We can’t wait to see what she does next!
