A Summertime Weekend with Skylee Dallas
We met Alison at the airport. Skylee was pretty cute and so excited to see Alison. She had to tell Alison all about the princess camp she attended earlier in the day. We waited to have dinner until Alison could join us. We stopped back downtown on our way home and had dinner at Blue Lemon.
We were all tired by the time we got home (it was ~10 pm). We got ready for bed and read about a few inspiring women from the book Goodnight Stories for Rebel Girls. This is a fun kids' book we got for when Skylee and Holly stay with us at our house. We read about Jane Goodall, Mae Jamison, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, and others. It is a fun book to read with Skylee and she kept wanting to read one more. story.
Skylee woke us up right at 7 am. She was ready to go. We made breakfast. It primarily consisted of Mickey Mouse-shaped waffles for Skylee along with spinach, bacon, and eggs for Alison and me.
After breakfast Alison and I did some yoga - we thought Skylee might participate, but she was feeling a little tired after waking us up early and wanted to relax. After yoga, Skylee and I started watching Cinderella.
We made it about halfway through before we paused to head to the pool. One of the things we love about Daybreak is that we have access to some great swimming pools. This is the first weekend that it has been warm enough to really enjoy the pool. Skylee and I swam and played in the water while Alison lounged (she did jump in the water shortly before we left).
We met Kristin at our house and she dropped off Holly and picked up Skylee. They were going to have some mommy-daughter time. We took Holly out on our porch and enjoyed the beautiful summertime weather. She fell asleep right in my arms - it was adorable. When Kristin and Skylee were done getting pedicures they joined us on the porch and we talked away the afternoon.
After they left Alison and I took a long walk through our neighborhood and down around the Daybreak lake. It was the perfect relaxing summertime day.
