Our Disneyland Adventure - Day 4

Here you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy - Disneyland

Sunday morning we got up early hoping to have another morning like Saturday. We got to the park and 8 am and realized it didn't open until 9 am. We didn't even check the hours before we headed over. It all worked out because we decided to go to California Adventure first and got fast passes for Radiator Springs Racers. They let you into the park at 8:30, but they don't let you past Buena Vista street until they open at 9 am. While we were waiting we made friends with the people around us. They were from Northern California and Seattle. It was fun to talk and get to know them. When it came time to get the fast passes we all worked together to make sure no one cut in front of us. We were able to ride all of our favorite rides over there - California Screamin', Toy Story, and Radiator Spring Racers in the morning.

Our last jaunt through Cars Land
Then we headed back over to Disneyland. Since we had such a good and busy day on Saturday we went a little slower today. We wanted to ride all of our favorite rides one last time. We worked our fast passes and made sure we didn't have to stand in any long lines. We were able to ride Indiana Jones, Pirates, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, and Splash Mountain a few more times. We also tried a ride we had never ridden before, the Davy Crockett canoes. It was a lot of fun to paddle around the Rivers of America.

While we were walking around the park between rides we stopped by the Big Thunder Ranch and visited the petting zoo. We even found a calf to pet.

We also went over to the shooting range in Frontier land and I spent some quarters at the range.

We did a few things on this trip that really helped make it go well. I brought a drawstring backpack that we carried all over the park and it was a must. In it, we carried two water bottles. Disneyland's official policy is to not allow food or drink into the park, but we never had any problems bringing in our water bottles. While we were there the temperature was in the low to mid-80s and that was plenty warm. We drank a ton of water. We figure the water bottles saved around $100 with the amount of water we drank. Bringing a backpack with some water, snacks and other items helped keep our trip efficient.

At the end of the day, we wandered back over to Main Street and Alison bought a stuffed Minnie Mouse for Skylee. We also got some more ice cream and then we watched the firework show. It was so much fun. We love the shows at Disneyland because they are so grand. They all focus on following your dreams and imagining. It is such a powerful message.

After fireworks, we ran over and rode Splash Mountain and Space Mountain one last time. We had a scare when we got off Space Mountain for the last time. It was 10:50pm and the park was about to close. We were walking up the hallway to exit when I realized I didn't have my phone. We panicked. Not only would we have lost my phone, but also our credit card and ids which I keep in my phone case. I couldn't remember the last time I used my phone so I wasn't even sure if it was lost at Space Mountain. We went back and told the cast members what happened and they started looking in each car that passed. We anxiously waited while they checked for the phone and after a few minutes, they pulled it out of one of the cars. We were so relieved.

This Disneyland trip was awesome. It came at just the perfect time to let Alison and I get away from the pressures of school and work. We had such a great time being together 24/7. Disneyland truly is a magical place where you leave regular life behind and enter the happiest place on earth. The last thing we said as we were leaving is that we couldn't wait to come back.

We got up the next morning and headed to the airport. We used Lyft and once again we were very impressed with the service. After a short flight out of Long Beach, we were home. Blake picked us up from the airport and we stopped by their house before coming home. Alison couldn't wait to see Skylee and give her the Minnie Mouse. Skylee loved it.

While we were hanging out talking about our Disneyland adventures we started talking about how much fun it would be to go to Disneyland with Alison's family. Before you knew it we were planning a trip for next March. We bounced around a lot of ideas and then we booked some accommodations. We will be headed to California with Alison's entire family for another Disneyland adventure in just 7 months.  We can't wait.
