Saying Goodbye to Our Home on Liffey Lane

Alison and I spent the week since we returned home from Greenland packing and getting ready to move. We sold a lot of furniture that we aren't taking with us. It was a whirlwind of a week, but by the weekend we were in such good shape we were running out of things we could do until we get closer to our move-out date.

So we had a little party at our house on Sunday evening. It is the last family get-together we will host at this house. That feels strange. We bought some pizza and Alison and I made some ice cream. The ice cream turned out so well. We made Chocolate Gooey Brownie ice cream from the Salt & Straw cookbook that Alison got for her birthday. We loved it and so did our family - it all got eaten.

It was really fun to have one last night of laughing with the people we love in our house. One last night of good memories in our house on Liffey Lane.

After everyone else headed Alison and I drove over to our lot. Next time we host a family party it will be here. It is hard to see it now, we don't even have a hole yet, but this will all be worth it in, hopefully, around a year.

It was a beautiful night so we took a walk around the lake. As we walked we took a minute to reflect on the events that brought us to this point in our lives and discussed our hopes and dreams for the future. The last few months have been crazy and the next year promises to bring more of the same. Walking around Daybreak lake grounds us and reminds us that in the end all of this crazy should be worth it.
