Troff Family Top 10 of 2014

This year has been a busy, wonderful year for our little family!  Here are some of the highlights.

1. We celebrated 3 years of marriage in June.  Time flies when you’re having fun!  Eric made a romantic lobster dinner before we headed to Salt Lake to walk around the temple and reminisce about our wedding day.

2. We’ve been very busy with work this year!  Alison was promoted to Technical Specialist Supervisor at DealerTrack in January.  She manages a technical team responsible for supporting DealerTrack field team members.  The best part – she is no longer consistently traveling, so we have even more time to spend together.  Eric rocked his internship at Ernst & Young and received a full-time job offer, starting next Fall after he graduates with his master's.

3. Eric continued to work hard in school.  He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Utah with a bachelor's degree in Accounting in August.  He started his master's program 2 weeks later and stays busy studying both for his classes and the CPA exam.  He will graduate in May with his master's – we can’t wait!

4. Our family continues to expand.  Alison’s brother, Jake, married his sweetheart, Meg, in May.  We absolutely love her and are so glad she is part of our family!  Eric’s sister, Charly, had a sweet baby girl in October named Ashtyn.  We’ve had so much fun loving her. And our niece, Skylee, turned 1 in May!  She’s such a delight.  We absolutely love having nieces!

5. We were able to spend Thanksgiving in New York City with Alison’s parents and siblings.  We had the best time at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade – it was a dream come true.  In addition to the parade, we ice skated in Central Park, went to the Christmas Spectacular, climbed to the Crown of the Statue of Liberty, and overall had a wonderful time with our family.

6. Derek Jeter announced his retirement from the Yankees in February, and like any good Yankees fans, we were heartbroken.  We made Eric’s dreams come true when we went to Jeter’s last game in New York.  Jeter ended the game with a walk-off single to right.  It was an unbelievable ending to an unbelievable career.

7. Eric has wanted to go back to his mission for the last 4 years and we finally made it happen this April.  We visited several people he worked with on his mission, visited the Oakland Temple, went to Monterey, and of course, went to baseball games in both Oakland and San Francisco.

8. Because Alison was no longer traveling this year, we decided to take advantage of the beautiful state we live in and start hiking.  We absolutely loved being in Utah’s mountains and seeing the beauty of God’s creations.

9. To celebrate Eric’s graduation, we went to Disneyland for a few days.  We love Disneyland!  We went on all of our favorite rides and enjoyed spending time together without the distraction of school and work.

10. We spent plenty of time camping this summer and fall!  We went to Bryce Canyon with Alison’s family over Labor Day – it was gorgeous!  We also visited Moab as a couple and hiked to Delicate Arch.  Finally, we visited Flaming Gorge with Alison’s family on the Fourth of July. We are so blessed to have a wonderful family to spend time with!

Merry Christmas,

Eric & Alison Troff
